We’re delighted to have donated more than £2,000 to the
Smile for Georgie Foundation after matching the funds raised from our Auction of Promises last month.
The popular annual fundraising event returned in November for the sixth year, with our colleagues, their friends and family donating their own goods or time to be auctioned off online as prizes. The money raised is split between all our charities of the year.
The event ran across our locations – Guernsey, Gibraltar, Sussex and Manchester – and more than £15,000 was raised in total, with £2,488 of that going to the Smile for Georgie Foundation in Guernsey.
The auction saw fundraising generated through the bidding of either people’s skills or services including wedding photography, Gary Barlow tickets, Red restaurant vouchers, Guernsey Fudge, overnight stays and even the chance to have one day extra of annual leave from work.
John Davison, Chief Information Officer, said: “The Smile for Georgie Foundation is a charity close to our hearts at First Central. It aims to make a difference and bring smiles to the people of Guernsey through small acts of kindness. A big thank you to our very generous team for their donations, which we know make a significant impact to local families.”
