We're inviting children to get creative in Market Square next week to celebrate Liberation Day.
A new children’s entertainment area in the Square will be the home to The Creation Station, a new franchise to Guernsey, operated by Kat Gillespie and sponsored by First Central Group.
From 11am until 5pm, The Creation Station will be running free activities in the First Central Group air dome, where children can create and make their own Liberation Day keepsakes.
The Creation Station Guernsey franchisee, Kat Gillespie, said: “We're so excited to be teaming up with First Central Group to offer free activities for families to enjoy on Liberation Day. We have some really fun creative activities planned for the kids, including making their own Guernsey flag, Guernsey crown and unique keyring - all of which they can take home with them.”
Lisa Vidamour, Group Operations Manager at First Central Group, said: “Liberation Day continues to be such an important day in the history of the islands and we're proud to be supporting The Creation Station by creating a free-of-charge, family-focused area in Market Square for everyone to enjoy.”
As well as The Creation Station, EPIC Challenges organisers Philip Smith and Warren Mauger will be taking to their bikes in Market Square as they continue their training for the FCG EPIC Week (10 – 16 July) by static cycling on turbo trainers for eight hours throughout the day to raise money for Guernsey Mind and This Is EPIC.
Raffle tickets will also be available for the chance to win a car, donated by First Central Group, with all funds raised going towards The Little Chapel Foundation, which was established to renovate, repair and manage The Little Chapel on behalf of the Bailiwick of Guernsey.
