Motor insurance provider, 1ST CENTRAL, has secured a nomination at the British Insurance Awards (BIA).
The BIAs are the foremost awards for the sector and 1ST CENTRAL will vie for Insurance Broker of the Year in July.
One of the company's key differentiators in a busy insurance market is its bespoke, full retail insurance platform built by First Central Group, called Focus. The platform allows the group extreme agility with the ability to collate, use and analyse data across quotes, bookings, claims and other ongoing support.
The flexibility of Focus plays a significant part in 1ST CENTRAL being a consistent top 10 seller on UK price comparison websites.
First Central Group's Chairman, Mike Leonard, said the BIAs were the insurance industry Oscars and being nominated was highly prestigious. “We have been quietly pushing the boundaries of FinTech in our sector for a long time, and to be playing a part in the industry recognising 1ST CENTRAL’s innovative way of underwriting motor insurance is excellent,” he said.
“Focus allows us, as a company, to disrupt the traditional UK motor insurance market; in Guernsey we continually evolve the platform to anticipate what 1ST CENTRAL’s customers need now and in the future.
“We are enormously proud too of our development team, who devised and built Focus; they've grown from a team of four to more than 30 in only four years, and we know that the way we assist 1ST CENTRAL is a key part in its success.
“First Central Group has created a continuous environment of learning and development, offering an opportunity to work in the advance .NET sphere, which is not available anywhere else in Guernsey. This is a real success for Guernsey and we expect to be continuing to build on our innovations in our sector and further afield.”
